I have moved to the coast of Lake Superior in the U.P. and have yet to find any shoots here. I used to do IDPA but would go to action pistol if available. (I only have handguns, haven't ventured into long guns yet.)

There is quite a lot of shooting to be had in the U.P.
If you are interested in steel plate shooting there's a match outside Negaunee July 10. It's at the Negaunee Rod & Gun Club.
There are other plate shoots in Newberry, and I think in Manistique. Put Pig Iro Classic in a search engine and info should appear.
There's are a few three gun matches at the Portage Lake Sportsmen's Club in Chassell this summer. The first one just took place, two more are planned. There's also an IDPA operation there. The Ottawa Sportsmen's Club outside Baraga also has occasional IDPA shoots.
Chippewa County has an active club called the Chippewa County Sportsmen's Association. The range is about 10 miles from the Sault. They shoot three gun, PPC, benchrest .22 rifle, cowboy action, trap, etc. They may have IDPA too.

There's also a range near Scandia, Tri-Range?, I think.
It has PPC type shoots and some other matches too.
