I'm semi-interested in this gun. Could somebody tell me if this gun holds the same number of rounds (12) as a USP "tactical" if there were preban mags available?

Just wondering what might be available next fall for it or if ten is the max it will hold anyways.

8+1, AFAIK no mag extensions available for it. USP fullsize mags won't fit. In a world of compatible magazines, some don't.

Is it single stack or double? I really liked the pic of the compact with the chromed slide I saw in a thread yesterday! Kinda losing interest now though, a 1911 holds that many rounds and is more accurate with a longer barrel!

I am a long time 1911 fan...so no bashing here, but I have never owned a 1911 that was as accurate out of the box as my stock usp.45c. I'm sure if you bout a Baer or a Wilson or some such you could get a more accurate pistol but you'd pay about 2.5 x the price. I just don't see the magazine capacity as a big issue. ymmv

Disclaimer: I am not one of those fanatical HK or nothing Guys...I have some great pistols from all the major makers...I just seem to have good luck with HK's.

Try the USPc 45 before you decide anything. I'll bet you'll be pleasantly surprised! ;)
The compact 45 is a single stack 8+1 so the issue of "pre ban" mags is non existent.

I think the compact .45 is the exception... If it is double stack, they did some cool manufacturing technique to make the grip slimmer.

I'm prob. going to rent one this weekend.

The USP .45 Compact is a superbly accurate gun. Ayoob reported in American Handgunner getting 3/8" groups at 25 yd with Winchester USA 230 gr. factory ammo. He got 7/8" with Silvertips.

By my measurements the mag is a "column and a half" wide at 13/16".

It is as reliable as an anvil.

They are very accurate. The mags, like the KZ45, are more 'single and a half' stack than doublestack.

Left to right: USP 45C (double), 1911 (single), USP 45F (double):
