Texas is the most conservative of the big states. We have open carry and Florida doesn't. You can carry a gun in your car in Texas without a license. The leg passed numerous pro-2A laws in the last session. We did drop the ball on Constitutional Carry but expect to get it next time.

only reason we dropped the ball is because some idiot threatened and made an ass of himself with a couple of the congressmen and poof there it went!

We will get it next year.

I am actually working with my districts rep and senator, on 4 new bills that they will introduce in January.

1. The Texas 2nd amendment preservation act
2. A better self defense bill, in that if passed, you can’t be sued for civil damages unless you were actually convicted of a wrongful shooting. Meaning if the DA refuses to prosecute, they can’t sue you in civil court.
3. Any private businesses that choose to be a gun free zone, will either at their choice be required to provide armed security, or be liable for damages if their is a shooting and you have your LTC. The LTC part might be removed if we pass constitutional carry

4. Treat your immediate area campsite when camping the same as your home and not require your LTC if your in your designated campsite area, cooking area, tent, trailer, rv, or shelter.

The senator is also considering introducing a bill that will allow firearms and ammo to be tax free on the same 2 weekends each year we have tax free weekends. As well as sales tax free year around for all Firearm safes and locks.

A constitutional carry bill is already back in the works and will be re introduced.
