saw one today at the gun show, od green steyr AUG in OD green. he wanted $2000 for it. is that a good deal?

I have seen them go for much higher. I would think if it was an early import it would go for higher than 2000 though. Im not entirely sure on the values of them though.

Is it an actual (pre-import-ban) AUG? or a USR (post-ban "thumbhole")? or an MSAR? That makes a difference. Also, fixed scope, or rail, and barrel length are variables.

It had no stampings of MSAR on the OD green plastic or metal part.
He said it was original steyr and barrel length was 16"

i remember these going for more than $3000 on gunbroker.com, but not sure if the prices have come down because the new release of the AUG a3.

when looking through fixed scope, you see a black circle ring as the sight picture.

Depends on the profit margin. If it costs $500 to make and is being sold for $2000 it is not a deal. Find out the invoice price if you can.

I suspect now that microtech is making a good copy of the AUG, it isn't worth as much as it used to be.

Original as close to NIB as possible... about $1400 around here.

But aren't you in France, Afy?

That has about the same bearing on us as the price of AKs around the world...an AK in a third world country, full auto, is dirt cheap. Here, we are limited to semi-auto clones (because we have an actual, effective gov't that limits the imports) and they cost currently around $400 and up, depending on what model you are looking at.

Around here, before the Microtechs and such, AUGs were pretty high priced.
