What kind of velocity gains can be had by shooting 9mm in an 18.5 inch barrel vs. a 4 inch barrel? 9mm has been around for a long time so I know the powder and charge is calibrated for short barrels.
The second part of this question may be better suited for the reloading section, but would loading a slower burning powder increase the velocity in a longer barrel?
