Anyone know if the tubes for the V/P are available separately? I've googled till my head hurts. I would like to have a few more on hand to load up and have waiting. I could use my spare LNL primer tubes, but not ready to cut the ends off them just yet.

A solution for Primer tubes

Found the info below on another site but good info so thought I'd share.

Here are the dimensions and the McMaster-Carr part numbers for a 3 foot piece of the aluminum tubing they are made out of. It is available in 6 foot lengths also. I ordered a 3 foot piece of each size and have a whopping $22.69 invested.

Small Primer tube = .183 ID x 5/16" OD Part #89965K18
Large Primer tube = .215 ID x 5/16" OD Part #89965K472

The pick-up tubes are 12" long so you can get 3 spare tubes out of a 3 foot stick. I cut and filed the ends nice and clean, drilled a little hole for the hair pin

I hook my dillon tubes to the bottom of the vibra prime tube with the rubber hose coupler and vibrate them right into it. I then put the cap back on the end of the dillon tube and I'm ready to go. I have about 10 of these I do all at once and am set for a thousand rounds!

I don't understand the problem, at least with Dillon. I have a Vibra-Prime, and I load directly from the V-P adapter into the Dillon metal tube. Works like a charm.

I've found extra tubes on eBay which does make it handy for marathon loading sessions.

I also found that if I remove the plastic primer picker and bob the tubes so the "step" where the plastic thingy sat no longer exists, the tubes load much easier.

The problem is, to use the V/P and the adapter with my Hornady primer tubes, I would have to bob off the plastic tip. Which I dont want to do.

Thanks all for the input. I ordered the alum tubes from Mcmaster/Carr today.

Here is a pic of 4 tubes I made from the two 3' pipes I ordered from McMaster-Carr. I had a 5th tube laying around. If anyone is interested in doing this, make sure you use the dimensions of the Hornady primer tubes.

The black tape around the top is electric tape which acts as a spacer in the V/P. The tubes work perfectly in the V/P !!!
