Well ladies and gentlemen....

I went to the local Wally World tonight to buy toothpaste and ammo. Could not believe it....
.45ACP went up $4.30 for 100ct. WWB.
9mm went up $2.00 for 100ct WWB.

All this, overnight, literaly. :fire:

yup, this sucks.

but i have extra ammo for sale

all factory brand new

$100 for 17 boxes of wwb

or $100 for 10 boxes of .40sw wwb.

You are correct. I use to get Winchester 100 count in .40 for 17 dollars and change before taxes. Now it's $19.98 before taxes. I use to get the 100 count .45 for that price. This sucks.

I noticed the same thing this morning. Remington .223 used to be $5.00 for a box of 20. Now it is $6.44 for that same box.

I know that there the economy has inflation concerns, but this is ridiculous!

Yup i posted about this in the handgun section .. it sucks !!:fire: but oh well .. GO TO ACADEMY $4.86/50 rounds of 9mm and $2.86/20 rounds of .223 and 7.62x39!! there is still hope .. i recently picked up 30 boxes of 7.62x39 from academy!

Makes me wonder if there's money to be had buying some commercial loading equipment and making ammo. You'd need some huge liability insurance and serious quality control to prevent kB's or squibs but I wonder what the profit margin is for domestic ammo sales.

There are a ton of commercial reloaders doing just that already. The field is pretty crowded.

You're right..only 10 states have them (Academy)...thought it was a larger chain. It's like having an SUV..they're great, but it's becoming increasingly expensive to put gas in the tank.

I have ample supplies of ammo right now, but can see the value of loading your own. In fact, that may be the (only) way to go in the future...for some calibers.

They also havent had the Win 223 valuepacks or the Remington .45acp JHP value-packs in months. :(

1) Global demand for raw materials such as brass and lead are up. Hence the price increase.

2) This has already been discussed elsewhere.

3) Wal*Mart threads are pretty well played out.

4) Steve H wins the thread.
