Wal-Mart, Dicks pull semi-auto rifles

"suspended the sale of modern sporting rifles in all of our stores chain-wide." The company said it was acting "out of respect for the victims and their families, during this time of national mourning."

I never really liked Dicks, now I'll be sure to never set foot in their stores again.

It seems that Walmart has only ceased sales of the specific make (Bushmaster) the CT shooter used. I still strongly disapprove, but it's a more reasonable approach to the lashing out they've been receiving.

Yeah Dick's has lost my business permanently. No loss, really, they were too high priced. Think the ONLY thing I ever bought there was a set of scope rings.

I don't see it as a big deal. Both Dicks and Walmart were very slow to stock AR's in their stores. PR is a very important facet of their marketing and frankly I don't blame them. They know as soon as they roll them back out onto the shelves, they will sell very quickly. It's a win win for them.

I don't shop at these stores anyway...but I'll be sure to campaign against them now.
What they are doing is equivalent to when Obama apologized for US.
In other words...Dick's is effectively saying "Yes, these "Military-Style, High Capacity" rifles we sell are the reason for these tragedies.
Hey, the "mental defective" also used a Sig and a Glock...why doesn't Dick's remove them from the case as well?

Hey Dick's...if you're doing this out of respect for the victims, you are definitely going in the wrong direction.

Never shopped at Dick's but I do buy some ammo and other stuff at Walmart. Corporations are politically correct entities run by cowards.

No more purchases from Dick's...none period.

A principled person... guess if they put their ammunition at close out prices you wouldn't be willing to buy anything. More for me. It is just a store. They sell lots of stuff.

The only thing that I have knowing not purchased is Perrier for political reasons which is made in France.

I don't see you stating that you won't buy anything made in China because of their political stances or human rights issues.

Walmart is still selling AR15's and when I was in there at lunch a gentleman was purchasing a SIG M400 similar to mine. Ammo is a different story, shelf was bare for 223 / 5.56.

BTW does anyone know if I can change the account name on my old account, I no longer use it because years ago when I made it I choose a name that I no longer like.

Bought a shotgun there a month ago, Can easily live without ever setting foot in there again.

What beef have you against France?

I don't even remember. :D But I still don't buy or drink the stuff. :D This illustrates the ridiculous nature of things like this.

I have only shopped at Dick's once. Never again. My local Wal-mart never sold any sort of AR, so all I ever bought there was ammo. There are plenty of other places to buy my ammo from now on. While I wish incould say I would boycott Walmart entirely, I can't. I will, however, boycott their sporting goods section. They're not the only game in town.

Dick's is nothing more than a golf shop that just happens to sell guns... and I used to work there. Hey it was a job...

I have not set foot in the "firearms section" of a Walmart in years. I know in some areas it is the only option but I will never grace their shame of a firearms department. Even if it means spending more somewhere else.

Dick's here has been having decent prices on Remington shotgun ammo, and I use golf gloves for shooting - the only reason i stop in. But here in FL, we have tons of golf stores, and I cleaned them out of ammo last time, so I guess I'll figure out something to do with their $10 off coupons I have

Then to he!! with them. Nothing either of them sell that I cannot purchase elsewhere. I for one, am through looking the other way at this kind of thing. This day and age, I have all the choices I need at my fingertips, and I intend to take advantage of those choices at the same time I will be refusing to he held hostage by corporate political correctness. The same goes for any other corporation/s who make the same decision. Voting with my dollars seems to be the only thing these people understand.

Take your dollars where you business is appreciated and let these places know they lost your dollars. Heck, send them photo copies of receipts.
