Ever consider wallyworld is just utilizing empty space leftover because they don't stock ammo anymore :uhoh:.
Keeping it locked because of the "other" stuff still in there...
could happen,
:scrutiny:

No, these shelves are a complete aisle away from the 30 something guns they still sell and the little bit of ammo they have. They build brand new shelves with glass fronts. They made the girlfriend go to a certain register for some anti Ohihunter jr. products and told her if she didn't check out right then and there she had to lock the items back up. She went looking for someone to sell her Hoppes and was told the same.

According to the WM manager here these plans have been in work for several years. Several times I've called to verify they have items that they wouldn't carry many of were in stock only to be told yes and get there and none on shelf. Last time it was an air compressor that went on sale. Was told 2 on shelf. The manager looked all over their stock rooms but no compressor. I asked how it shows in stock but not there and they told me it most likely went out the door. A stand up compressor just out the door? 2 of them? Yes. You would not believe how many big screen TVs just disappear every year. One problem is even if an hourly employee see someone stealing it takes a salary manager seeing it to make it fact. Plus only thing the manager can do is report it to police. Once out the door they can't detain them.
What they are doing is what majority of big stores I've been to in Mexico do. Doors in, the only way out is through check out area. Most common theft items will be walked to check out. Probably have large bags in store restrictions too. Stores in Mexico have locker area at entrance to store your bags and even large purses till you are leaving. They are free and guarded and chit is used for ID. Foresee entrance doors nonopperational for exit except if fire. A lot of stores already moved the order pick up service to front of store. That was the first step. Lots of people would go to back to pick up stuff and just add to it on the way out. TV in a box? No problem just wave a reciept and on out the door. Hourly employees didn't care. They to lowly to know if someone was stealing anyway. Couldn't detain them without being fired.
Most all stores now you can't do anything to detain once they are out the door.

Apparently the thieves know the law. If you start out the door and the "Greeter" ask you for your receipt you can simply say, "No thank you". Once you paid for it the property is yours and they can't legally require a receipt for the air compressor any more than they can ask you for a withdrawal receipt for the money in your wallet to prove you didn't steal it out of the register. It ceased to be their property when you paid for it and it's up to them to prove you didn't and so is still theirs (not the other way around).

OK then, maybe that stuff is being huffed/snorted/injected/smoked/vaped, ask your kids/grand-kids, they'll know... :uhoh:

New barricades
Mooooooooooo. They finally are telling us what they think of the general public. Nothing more than the herd who they milk for droppings from the bank account. I try not to shop there now because my local stores have the cattle gates too, and the guy at the door asking to see everybody’s receipt that went through self checkout, and the buggy dummy who rammed the crap out of a truck with the buggy mule and didn’t even slow down. Sadly I have no other option for certain things, especially when it’s a need for something quickly.

Haven’t shopped at Walmart since they made the announcement they were stopping ammo sales. My town has an Academy Sports that I can pick my own ammo from the shelves, and carry it to the register. At Walmart, i had to run down an employee who never had a key to the ammo case, then they had to page a manager, who takes his/her time getting there. I don’t/won’t miss it at all.
