Weatherby trigger

The trigger on my new Weatherby Vanguard isn't that flash(good). you line up a target to shoot and slowly squeeze and the trigger moves back a little bit, so you keep squeezing steadily and it moves back a bit more then the gun fires.
Will this "wear in" over time and get better?? Is the Gun shop I bought it off obliged to fix it and make it crisp under warranty?? I don't want to have to replace the whole trigger assembly what do you think I should do?

The trigger on the Vanguard is adjustable. If you are not confortable doing it you can send it back to weatherby and they will get it right for you at no charge. You can get the details at the Weatherby forum. Ed Weatherby participates and told me to send mine in if I wanted to. You might also look at the Timney trigger for the Vanguards.

I don't think the gun shop has any obligation to 'fix' your trigger. A good trigger job costs anywhere between $35 and $90 bucks. I just had a smith tune the trigger on my Ruger M77 and it went from 6 lbs with a lot of take up and creep to a crisp 3 lbs. It was definitely worth the $60 I paid.

i rang the gun shop andd they said i'd have to take to a smith. Because i live in Australia the nearest one happened to 1000km away. so i pulled the rifle apart and adjusted in myself and now its great!
