Military Surplus

If you're looking for a .30 caliber hunting rifle, don't overlook a military surplus rifle such as the Yugoslav Mauser '98, or my personal favorite - the Mosin-Nagant. I bought my 1891/30 Mosin-Nagant in April 2010 for $89.95 online. The 7.62x54r ammo is comparable to a .308 Winchester and sells for $9 to $10 dollars for a 20 round box.

Everything in this picture was well under $365, except for the M1 Garand of course.

You can get a M1895 Nagant revolver for $100 and have $265 left over to buy 32S&W Long rounds at $14 a box (best price I've found online so far). That revolver is incredibly fun to shoot.

Unfortunately last time I checked CMMG's website these 22LR uppers now cost a hair more than $365. They were $350 when I got them. Inflation will get you when you least expect it. :uhoh:

95% + of the shooting I do while off-duty is 22LR, and these uppers are still incredibly fun and cost less to shoot for a few hours than a game of golf most places.

The guns I plan on buying in the foreseeable future are well under $365. Heck for $365 I could get a M95 Steyr and a TT-33 Tokarev. I should be able to hook up a nice 22LR revolver for under that price too.

Hello all,
A few years ago I saw a Remington 870 12 gauge and a Winchester 1300 12 gauge go for $200 each, and there was a Remington 341 .22 bolt gun that went for $160 at the last gun show.

My savage axis Xp .308 with 3-9X40 scope and camo stock brand new on a good sale at cabela's $329. Used walther P22Q w/ crimson trace laser bought from someone on here shipped for $275. Wish I could find a good deal on an XD9 somewhere!

I have an SW9V, as far as it being the older model, well the trigger pull has lessened with age, smooth slide action, No jams or misfires so far, I have the 16 round box mag, and i shoot Hornady 115 gr. FTX Critical Defense rounds, I have had no problems so far and would recommend it as an under $300 gun. (currently $250 for either 9mm or .40)

I'm building a car from scratch the same way... stopped cable TV and Starbucks... it adds up!

You can always just keep saving for something better - who says you have to buy something now?
