What Auto do you use for Home Defense and why???

I keep my Mossy 590A1 under my bed, but I always have whatever piece I'm carrying that day in my nightstand. It's usuall a Glock 19, 20, 29 or Kimber Compact Aluminium or S&W 629 5"!

Why? Cause I can!

Springfield Mil-Spec on my side of the bed, Ruger SP101 on the wife's.

I use my H&K USP in 40 Auto. It was easy to get 12 round mags, and it was also easy to mount a $100 laser sight onto the frame. That seemed like a compelling reason for a pistol that is most likely to be used in a low light situation.

G19 with night sights and 4 extra loaded mags close by---just could never swallow the price of hi-caps for it--------but I figure 51 rounds should take care of most anything.-----Or at least until I get to the Mini-14---lol.

Currently, Sig P225 with Hydrashok rounds.

Why? The Glock 22 with the hi-cap is too wide for my wife to be able to control it if needed.

I keep my Beretta 96D as a dedicated bedroom gun.

Why? Well, it has a sweet DA trigger and it functions just like an eleven-shot .40 caliber revolver: point & click. :)

My dedicated under-the-bed dwellers include a Winchester 12guage, a very very very large Bowie (now that's a knife!) and flashlight. SG goes in bedroom safe every morning before brushing teeth.

Nightstand pistol; usually a SIG P220. But the SG comes out first.

HK USP 45 Compact.

Because it has been 100% reliable and I shoot it more accurately than any other pistol I own.

Glock in .40 S&W with night sights. Why? - the most reliable handguns I've ever owned, that's why! No. 1 priority in a defensive firearm - reliability, reliability, reliability!
