What does the future of CZ look like?

As good as it is i don't see the CZ 75 series being quite as popular in the U.S. down the line, from what I've heard they're now being badly outsold by newer designs even in CZ's home turf.

One great thing about CZ right now: I bought my P01s for $419 brand new. I wonder how many of the other NATO passing pistols were priced that low?

When I first started shooting I too looked down on CZ because I hadn't heard of them. Now they're at the top of my list.

"Just because Beretta has been in the USA longer and is well known, its got a better reputation"

It does? I have always thought CZ had the better reputation, at least since the introduction of the Model 75. Remember when they were $1000 guns and hard to find?

Beretta makes great shotguns.

Youngster, who is outselling them in the Czech Republic? I can believe spikes in production/purchasing, like, oh, Glock outselling Colt in the US police handgun market, but the worldwide popularity of the CZ-75 platform is well known.

The CZ75 has world wide popularity but other companies have taken a huge chunk out of their sales. If you do any amount of travel in the developing world you'll notice a bounty of different designs. CZs are relatively inexpensive compared to Glocks and SIGs in the 3rd World but they compete against HiPower clones from Argentina, Tanfoglios from Italy, PT92s from Brazil and Jerichos from Israel. The same small arms competition that we see in the US happens in other parts of the world too.

Don't underestimate the scale of CZ. They're a HUGE company. Think of GM, they screwed things up pretty badly and are currently losing money like a colander loses water, but they're still there and won't be going anywhere soon.

CZ isn't going anywhere for a LONG time.
