I usually carry either DT 180 gr. Nosler JHP or DT 200 gr. hardcast.
However I feel that the 180 gr. may be too light and soft for Black Bear, even the small-medium ones.
Conversely, I feel the that 200 gr. hardcast could be excessive for Cougars (straight pass-through) and a bit of expansion could be beneficial for making more damage.
The propblem is that when you hike you never know what you could be facing.....is not that you have time to swap magazines!!
Any suggestions for a better compromise??
