What is the biggest POS with a most ridiculous price tag you ever seen at a gun show?

The "dealers" also don't like when you pull a Blue Book out of your cargo pocket either.

$450 for a Taurus Judge.

$200 for a Jennings J25.

$500 for an Intratec TEC9.
Other than the Jennings being a little high, that's about average prices on those. Of course, they're all garbage, which is why the price is ridiculous.

Geez, what kind of pants do you wear? I get tired of carrying a Blue Book around in a backpack after a few hours--I couldn't imagine putting up with one in my pocket!

I saw a just your average run of the mill Garand at a gun show yesterday for $2500. That seems high to me but i'm not sure? At the same show I saw a "Beat all to hell" Winchester model 190 .22 for $365. I asked the guy if he was serious or was it a joke. I picked up mine for $60 6 months ago. I realize that your not gonna usually find the "Hot Deal" on firearms at the gun shows. I mean I've been lucky in the past at shows but prices always seem high to me. I like going to them for the deals on ammo, parts, odds & ends but even these are getting crazy as well. It's getting to the point that it's not worth going to the shows anymore. Even the cover charge is getting crazy. $10 per person!!!??!!!! What bothers me the most is how greedy most of the vendors are. They refuse to pay fair value but then sell at high prices & not willing to dicker but for a couple bucks. I get better deals out of my local Nickles Worth than I ever have from a show.

I don't pull out a Blue Book but I do pull out my Iphone & it does piss them off when I look up the item online & ask "Are you THAT proud of "X" item? Your $50 higher than new!"

There are few deals to be had at local shows and ammo vintage can be iffy........Last good deal I found was about three years ago. I picked up unused five pound 20ga Ithaca 37 Ultrafeatherweight 'English' with 25" vr barrel and grooved wood butt. The price was $375 which is excellent find for this particular gun.

PS. I would post on good deals found as it will be much, much shorter list.

Prices?

I've lost count of how many over-priced guns I have seen at gun shows. You can buy new guns, with factory warranties, for less.

A couple years ago I bought a Rossi single shot rifle that would shoot .45Colt/410. They were $179 new. They discontinued them about the time I bought mine. Later that year I was at a gun show and a guy had a used one at his table. I asked him what he wanted and he said, "$350, they don't make them anymore you know."

Not at a gun show but in the 70 we had a dealer in Indy...Don of Don's guns...he would have Rossi 38's silver plated with gold plated cylinders and sell them for 400 bucks...you could buy a Rossi then for under a $100.

Easier to list the good deals. I haven't made a purchase at a dealer's table in years. I used to go just to get AR lowers fro Spike's Tactical because it was easier to find them at a show than to get to their store. And their lowers were $100 when everyone else was sky high. I've made most of my deals in the parking lot. You catch someone looking to sell, make them a decent offer and then let them go in. One of the dealers is sure to offer them pawn shop $$$ less than 3 minutes after they walk in and they'll be right back out to find me. Gun shows are getting more like pawn shops all the time. Full of crap, they pay pennies on the dollar when they buy and everything then becomes a "collectible" the minute it hits their rack.

A "well worn" Norinco AK with rusty steel magazines for $1100USD.

Ammo prices are joke and used KaBars for more than the price of a new one.

There are some good deals on howling wolf T-shirts, Krylon gold framed eagle print pictures and other truck stop surplus. And we all know that gunshows in the southeast are THE place to gear up on flags, stickers and other confederate flag crap for the next uprising against northern aggression.

The South WILL rise again!

Just as soon as we "git round to it after restore that Monte Carlo and run up to Wal-Mart."

"$1,000 for a regular Russian SKS .

Not at a gunshow, but I saw a S&W Model 10 4" for $750 last year. Same shop had a Charter Arms .38 revolver of some type for $550. Funny, the smoke that hung in the air of that shop smelled just a touch like marijuana .

Heck, I saw a Norinco SKS at a pawn shop yesterday for $750. You can get one for $250 at the shop literally 3 blocks down the road!!!

For the life of me, I can't figure out how some of these places stay in business. "

Actually that is possible. There are MANY, and I mean MANY things that play into how much an SKS is worth. Some can bring is as much as 2k. So many variables such as laws, mfg date, mfg location, original modifications, known users/owners, history, condition, etc. I'd say the SKS is up there with m1 garands in terms of variables which deem how much they are worth. There are so many gazillions of them made that it's hard to tell what is worth much and what's not unless you are a crazed SKS collector. Regardless, unless the pawn shop or seller is an avid gun historian/collector, or has historical paperwork, the high price won't be accurate. But regardless, it is still possible to see that price tag on them if all the right things to look for are there.

Sorry it's an old post, but seeing all these Norinco comments kinda made me cringe. Even Norinco's can bring in crazy value. Like said, it all depends on the fine details that most gun lovers would never bother to go that far into details with.
