What is the S&W 642 with regular grips going for these days?

I'd like to pick one of these up. I remember an add saying that S&W had lowered the price on these. Also remember seeing some for about $350 at a gunshow in September. Is this the average price? I live in PA.

I like $350 OTD. I think I'll make some calls in the morning to some local dealers. Thanks for the response.

Last spring Smith was running some sort of rebate or other promotion on that gun and the prices were fairly low, under $350.

But I bought a Taurus 605C instead. Even though the Taurus cost $100 less than the Smith, the main reason I went with the Taurus was because I liked the trigger better. It's been a great little gun. I enjoy shooting it a lot more than I expected to, even with fairly hot .357 loads. I guess the compensated barrel really does help.

I've been calling all the local shops. Prices range from $355 to $378, but one of the shops is running a sale at $338. So I plan to go to the shop tomorrow & check out a 642. I agree the Taurus is nice. I have a 650 CIA, but wanted something a little lighter for the pocket. I've been wanting a S&W for some time, but have always opted for the Taurus. Since the 642 is comparable in price, I'd like to finally get a S&W. Thanks for the feedback.

I paid 392.00 OTD from a small mom and pop type shop here in MI. Might be a few dollars higher but I do not mind, they have wonder service.
