Marlin 336 .35 Remington with Williams Foolproof receiver sight. 75 yards is a looong shot where I hunt.

LOL, i never was a poacher but i used a .22lr with 40grn blazers on deer here with no issues. Im itching to try my .17s with solids next time i make it home.

Marlin .45-70 guide gun.

Also thinking about using my new 686 in .357 magnum if I can get them in close enough.

Killed two bucks last year with a scoped Marlin 336, .30-30. This year my deer rifles are:

1. NEW Kimber 84M Classic Select, .308 Winchester with Leupold VX3 2.5-8X36

I hunt deer with the following rifles:

Mariln 336CS 30/30 - This is my woods and bush gun, I take it with me when
I know the average shot is going to be less than 100 yards.

Savage 110 30.06 - I take the Savage when I hunt open areas or when
I may need to take a long shot - 100 yards or more.

Both are reliable and accurate deer rifles that I don't need a second mortgage
on the house to own. I'm thinking about getting a 7mm or a .270 in the future.
Do you members have any suggestions for a rifle that costs $ 600.00 or less?

Remington Sendero in 25'06

Nope I use a .40 carbine works great out to 40-50 yards anything farther than that and it probably wouldnt be a clean kill.

I used to work with a guy that swore by a Ruger PC carbine in 40S&W for deer. He said it would drop them on the spot. I know the 10mm makes an excellent deer gun, but the 40? Personally it's not for me but if it works and it's legal, I'm all for it.

My deer gun this year will probably be a Contender carbine in 30-30. I'm gonna try some leverevolution and see how it groups. If it shoots well for me than I'll be good to go.

My primary is a custom Mauser with a 21" featherweight barrel and 3-9X50 in .257 Roberts A.I.. My foul-weather/backup is a sporterised Mosin-Nagant in an ATI stock with peep sights.

My Wife's preferred rifle is a Savage 99 in .300sav and her secondary is a Remington 141 in .35rem.

My new No1 this year is a Golden State arms Co. Santa Fe R-169 Grenadier in 30-06 with a 3x9 scope(its really a 98LR by another name)

Playing second is my 336AS 30-30 with a Williams FP peep
