I'm looking at a .40 S&W Hi-Point carbine. I first saw a .45 and really liked it as I shoot .45 pistols as well, but even with reloading, the higher expense is there and I think that the .40 would be better overall for hope defense and for varmint hunting on the farm. I have a .243 for hunting as well as a an SKS, and a couple of Mosin-Nagants for longer range, shooting. I'd just like a pistol caliber carbine for HD and varmints and the Hi-Point looks well made for that. Thanks for your input.
