Hey everyone,

I was thinking of buying a new 1911. What kind of 1911 is best.

My price range is between $400- and $700.

Was looking at the Kimber, the Para Ord, Springfield Armory.

mostly looking at the Para Ord. para ops, and the And the para Carry CX645S
Anyone have one of these?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

So many toys, so little time. :)

I'd suggest a stainless Springfield Milspec, because I have one and it functions flawlessly. :)

In that price range I think I would look towards one of the "new roll mark" Colts. The quality of the parts in the Colt pistols seems to be better than many other makers. Second choice would be Springfield followed by Kimber. I don't like firing pin safety systems, so Kimber is at the bottom of the list unless you find an older Kimber that does not have such contrivances.

I have an SW1911 with the adjustable sights; it is very accurate, and 100% reliable, and I would whole-heartedly recommend one to anyone interested in a 1911

Of the 3 mentioned, Kimber.

Or a Colt. Don't overlook the ORM colts either. My ORM shot better than the NRM.

What is ORM and NRM?

Also anyone have any experience with the LDA type triggers?

Kimber

My first pick would be the Kimber TLE II it's a fullsized all steel "frame&Slide" 1911 with nightsights. A really quality 1911 IMHO. :)

S&W1911. All the bells and whistles and mine shoots as well as a friend's Colt Gold Cup Trophy for a lot less money.
