I have several hundred rounds of miscellaneous ammo that I no longer have guns for. I even have close to a thousand once fired rounds of brass that I don't need. 45 colt, 44 mag, 40 s&w, 308, 38 spl, 45/70 Most of the loaded rounds are hand loaded, I am confident they are loaded correctly but I would hate to give them to someone else.

Any ideas as to what to do?

Fred

Call the fire dept

Contact your local fire dept or police department they should be able to take small to medium quanites for disposal.

I know a guy from the range who loves shooting .40 Cal. He doesn't care for .45 ACP, so once every few months we trade brass. I don't reload yet, but soon.

On live ammo.. are you certain you'll never own something in that caliber again? Really certain? If not share with those in need of it with appropriate cautions with reloads ect., who you would trust with it.

On brass if its centerfire then sell it if you must or outright give it generously to someone for reloading (who will really do it). Just don't pitch it!!! People may one day need that!

edit: share it and you just may make a new friend!

sell...
or send to me. :)

BTW: In Europe so you would need an export and import license.

Find someone with firearms who shoots the ammo you got; enjoy a day at the range. A lot of the ammo is pretty common, so I don't think you'll have much of a problem. Maybe some local members of THR could help you out.

I don't reload, but I do try to save my brass for friends that do.

Along the same lines and i don't mean to steal the thread.

Our local police dept got a basically a BBQ on a trailer. It destroys ammo, okay but the cost....20,000 dollars, I smell federal monies. The trailer maybe 2k another 3k for the BBQ. I am in the wrong business.
