While I have an AR and enjoy it, especially after getting rid of my Mini 14. But, my first choice in a “If you could only choose one” would still be a lever gun in some cases a bolt gun.Just wait for this week's "If you could only..." thread.

I sold ONE of my go to rifles. Back then an SKS was more likely to be a go to, or maybe my Mauser sporter in 30-06. I like variety...You sold your go-to rifle?

I typed it as I rolled my eyes at all the blued steel fudd specials used as "defensive go-to rifles".
And it's almost 70 years old...
When you consider how much thought the anti crowd go after AR’s and the like, making a traditional lever look like a hated AR will only get them attacking a traditional lever.
