What's the most obscure handgun you've ever carried?

I carried a Soviet Tok in the early `70s. NOBODY knew what it was. It was as reliable as my Mod. 10 S&W (70's mfg.), but what a bark and blast when I pulled the trigger.:D

Spanish M.A.B. .32 ACP compact. It's so obscure that the one I had is the only one I've ever seen, and I can't find any reference to it in any place I've looked.

At the gunshop I worked at in my younger years, we bought a Semmerling LM-4 with the rest of a deceased individual's collection. My boss let me have it for 900 bucks with the understanding that I would sell it back to him when (if) I got sick of it.

Carried it with pleasure as a BUG for about six months...wish I could find another for that price.

"I thought I was the only one who had carried a Grendal P-10. Rapped ya nicely on the nob of your thumb, eh?"

Even worse than that was loading the thing. Only gun I ever owned that was more painful to load than to shoot. Interesting design, had to lube the mag spring with blood.

Replica Colt Navy for a time, out of necessity.

C96 Broomhandle Mauser a few times, because if it's good enough for Han Solo, it's good enough for me. ;)

The Viking is a close copy of the 'Seecamp' conversion done by Colt at the custom shop.

I thought I was the only guy around here that owned a ODI/Viking farmed gun. Mine is a frankengun, with an all-Colt upper and Wilson doo-dads (beavertail, safety lever) that I had built up.

Hope yours is more reliable than mine, I tried to use mine in IDPA for a while it jams a lot. Still, an intersting piece and it did a lot of holster time.

Also have carried a Colt 1917 New Service Army Revolver as a belt gun and felt no shame at all, nor did I feel undergunned.

Haven't taken the Luger into the woods yet. Found out it DOES fit in my GI 45 holster.

Carried a Pa-63 backpacking a lot.

A CZ-27 .32acp (great guns!)
A Tok now and again.
A Ruger Super Blackhawk 44mag.
I actually carried a Nagant revolver with the .32acp cylinder once!

I too once owned the bedeveled Grendel:fire: . It broke the first time I shot it and never did work right. Funny thing is I now carry it's offspring, a Keltec P-11 and I love it. Really good gun.

actually...

... I had planned on using both my Broomhandle and my Automag for practical pistol comps (Wisconsin doesn't allow CCW yet). Will probably use my planned cowboy pistol for such, as well (Navy Arms replica Schofield)...

And, if I can use it in a practical, then carry with it IS an option... :neener:

H&R top break snub nose in .38 S&W caliber (.38 short). Actually a pretty nice little gun. The .38 S&W rounds became expensive and hard to find though.

9 m/m Astra 400 (9 m/m Largo that is)
1917 Erfurt "Artillery" Luger
BUG's BUG Bernadelli Vest Pocket in .22 Short
Colt Second Gen SAA in .357 (4 3/4" barrel)

CVA vest pocket derringer, .31 caliber percussion. For style mind you.

Colt 1860 .44 caliber percussion revolver (Pietta) for belt gun while in the woods.

Colt Police Positive Special revolver .32-20, a nice ccw gun for people with much smaller hands than mine. Sold it.

H&R M925 .38 S&W snubbie break-top revolver. A nice gun with great blueing job. I wish they still made these.

Tokorov 7.62x25mm, good gun and great chambering. I hope more guns come out in this caliber.

Forehand Arms .32 S&W long in a nickel plated 6 shot break top revolver.

I was young and had little money and it worked for me at the time.

More recently I carried a CZ-70 .32acp until I got my P-32.

(sad) TRUTH

I long ago wore a 38 Special 4" RG.
That's right, an RG.
Spit awful, couldn't stand by side, but (with correct ammo) it was
accurate.
Real accurate.
Pot metal, but accurate.
And reliable (at least as long as I kept it :D )
