What's the one out of state hunt you'd like to try?

And the custom Texas “Dall” Sheep didn’t exist back then.

Texas Dall Sheep are a hybrid cross between Mouflon ewes and Rambouillet rams. The end result is a beautiful snow white Corsican sheep that was bred solely for hunting purposes. No conspiracy here just the facts.
This is the first time you posted Texas Dall Sheep in all capital letters to specify anything different form the post about hunting Dall sheep by another member who posted that was his dream out of state hunt -generic -dall sheep.

Just the facts here ma'am.

I guess I can see how this could be confusing for you. My apologies, we were both talking about real life Dall Sheep. Not the Texas hybrid with a cute marketing name.

Right now if I was to do an out of state hunt it’d be desert coues in Arizona. I do miss hunting in the high desert.

i miss it too. Love hunting Coues deer but have been chasing mulies last few years and leftover Coues tags are all but a thing of the past. I’ll get back to it eventually I think, they’re still one of my favorite animals to hunt

I’ve never actually hunted Coues deer. I’ve hunted desert mulies in Coues deer country but I’ve never specifically hunted the little guys. I need to make that happen!

There are a number of hunts I want to do over the next few years. I really want to hunt brown bear in Alaska. I would also like to return to Argentina for water buffalo (again) and red stag. Australia for a water buffalo cull hunt, and back to Africa for Cape buffalo and hippo...Oh, and all with revolvers.

Definitely. They are really fun. I still consider them the gold standard for heavy, patient glassing and spot and stalk hunting, at least in Arizona. I really fell in love with the rugged low desert in southern AZ. When asked what’s my favorite species to hunt I still usually respond Coues even though mulies and elk have been the focus and will continue to be in the foreseeable future.

It’s hard to burn deer points on a non-Kaibab tag for me right now even though I think I could backpack in to a few spots and find some big bucks. One of these days I’m gonna make it happen

Points are always good. Currently the unit I used to hunt is 100% draw even nonresident. That won’t last forever, but with even a point of two it should be drawable any old year

I am very content on hunting in Maine, Moose, black bear and deer. But i would love to a hog hunt at night in Texas or where ever they are. We have coyote hunting at night, but its not that fun anymore.

Too many hunts in state that I need to do. Antelope in the SE, mule deer anywhere East, big antlered blacktails in the south, spring black bears on the east side, and a really big Roosevelt bull in my backyard. A desert big horn on the John Day would be awesome too. Oregon has some cool opportunities. Africa is what I dream of along with red stags in New Zealand. But I wouldn’t turn my nose up at an opportunity to see Wyoming. This job is really messing up my plans.....

I'm really happy with my current deer hunting situation because it gives me good opportunity to hunt whitetail and mule deer and I have been averaging 2 mature bucks each year. I can also take wild hogs in the off season and spring turkey in April, but there is one hunt I would like to do sometime! That would be a mule deer rifle hunt in Saskatchewan. Nothing gets me going like seeing a big bodied mature mule deer buck and I don't even care about the number of points as long as the antlers are heavy. I've been to western Canada before, it would be a dream to hunt there and my 338-06 would work fine.

When I was younger I dreamed of Africa and other great hunts. I applied for Moose many times but never got drawn. Prepared for an Elk hunt in Colorado but didn't happen. I did get to do some out of state hunts. Later when I finally had time and money I became disabled. Shortly before I retired I had a horrible high speed motorcycle accident. after years of recovery I could still do some hunts but I don't foresee much happening. I still like shooting and hunting but my dreams are more reruns nowadays. Lucky I have some great ones.
