What's This Ammo ?

Hi, B-i-L has this ammo to sell, but thinks it's 7.62X39mm . I believe it is a .308 of some type ( He had a Poly M14 I think He bought it for ) . He has 2 200 round battle packs of the stuff. Sold alot of His guns and most of His ammo, I would buy this but I'm pretty sure it's not 7.62X39 mm . Any ideas ????.....WVleo

You could always open one of the packs and look at it. 7.62X39 will be obviously different from 7.62X51.

its probably a 7.62 NATO battle pack.

I'm gonna say that's a 7.62 NATO battle pack as well.

I've never heard of nor seen x39 coming in such packaging.

It's 7.62X51 NATO stuff. 7.62X39 was never packaged that way. Another give away is the size. 200 rounds of X39 is nowhere near that big and bulky.

I've got some of that ammo in the idividual cardboard 20 round boxes.

It's nice ammo, and it's .308.

You could weigh it and divide by 200. Then weigh one round of each .308 and 7.62 X 39.

It should be closer to one than the other.

So say $100 per 200 round container would be fair ? I'd buy it but I don't have nor do I intend to get a .308 ! .......WVleo

Two years ago is was about $200 a case (1080 rnds), last show I saw the battle pack for $120. It should look something like this when you open it up.
