Yep, Dave, I keep all shots at 30yds or less with either....past that, the 12ga patterns start to get really thin, to where anything past 35yds is a crippler....in .410, regardless of choke, the patterns seem to just fall apart past 30....with the .410 at 15-25yds, I get a dense 15" core, a few fringe pellets out to 20", so centering is crucial....never have tried a 28 that did much different, and .410 is a lot easier to find....my shotgunning bible was always Bob Brister's book, so I use open choke and hard shot for the shooting we have down here....matches my poorer skill level.
