What's Your Favorite S&W .357 Revolver?

New Combat Magnum 4-inch. Also, the old Model 66, 4-inch pinned and recessed. Never owned either. Next in line, the 4-inch 686.

I've always been pretty much in love with the P&R 19s and 66s ... Prefer my 19s as dash-3s and 4s with 4" barrels and 66s with the 2.5" barrel ...

I have a 4" 586 that I purchased used in '92. It's my favorite of all my handguns, actually.

Carry or range?
Carry would be a 586 L-comp, heavy but worth it. With Bob Mundun trigger job.

Range would be my 627 PC, eight shots and shoots like a laser.

Mine is an older 6" 27-2 with an S serial number. I do have a 6" pre-27 that is also really nice, but that particular 27-2 is one of the nicest shooting revolvers that I own. It's about on par with my pre-24 for being my favorite.

I have a fondness for the Combat Magnum but I think I have to give the nudge to the old model 27.

I just love the N frames.

4" 19-3, bought new in '76 IIRR. Stoked with +P handloads, it's my go-to "walk in the woods" gun.

Model 19 w/ 4" bbl. Happens to be my first & only Smith & Wesson revolver. Just a smidgen smoother than my departed GP-100 ;)

For me it's the Model 13.

I have three:

4" nickle
4" blued
3" blued round butt

They're all excellent revolvers.

In order of preference, my dad's old M19, 4", which my wife seems to have appropriated. Got it from him shortly before he passed in '79 and it is butter smooth. Next, my 686+, quite accurate and smooth. Third, and last as a .357, my 60-15. No way I'm gonna shoot full house .357s in that one. +P 38s is tops.
Wish I'd kept my 27 and 28.

My favorite S&W 357 Magnum is the one I am shooting at the moment.:)

I have K and L frames but I need to get a Model 27.

My first is a 6" Model 19, so, that probably really tops the list.

I bought this 19-4 new, first DA revolver I ever owned. I have shot it a lot, mostly with .38 Specials.

Back then, concealed carry was unheard of in most states. There was no advantage that I could see to having a shorter barrel on a revolver.

Times change, of course. So I picked up a 66-3:

The price was attractive, because some Cletus had tried to polish it. But the timing was of a nearly new quality, no split in the forcing cone. The LGS had three 4" 19s that were priced higher and weren't as mechanically nice as the 66.

So home with me it went.

Either the Model 19 or the Model 66 with a three inch barrel made prior to1982.
