AR15 with a Aimpoint. I'd love to grab my CCw instead, but only if i can find my glasses. I can aim a red dot without my contacts in, but not so good with my pistol. My cat loves to toss my glasses under the fridge while I'm sleeping, so the AR15 carbine wins my HD role.

My FN Ps90 with Aimpoint is a ton faster though. I'd like to try Keltecs new shotgun with a T1 on top.

I've got a Larue 13" rail on my carbine, a chainsaw fits right under my barrel just fine. But I'm having trouble putting a bayonet on the chainsaw.

NEF Pardner 20 ga. single shot Ridiculously reliable, and super easy to maintain, so at least I know it'll be ready if I need it. |:

Kimber Warrior with a tac light.

Hopefully that will take care of things but if there is a wild party on the street or I feel something is aloof the AR goes by my bed as well.

Depends on what floor of my house I'm on. Rem 870 12ga. 1st floor and Glock 21 in computer room. AR on second floor,I like to be prepared.

My home defense weapon is one out of a number which happen to be close by.

I have two. A MAB PA-15 in the desk drawer underneath my left elbow and a S&W 5906 beside my bed.
I don't stay home without them. :D

Mine is an M1 Carbine. The Missus has a 12 Gauge SxS. She's thinking about switching to a 20 Gauge pump of some kind.

I have no pictures handy, but both are pretty vanilla, so you can imagine what they look like.

Shouldn't this belong in another section like General Discussion? :p

My HD firearm is my Springfield XD Tactical in good ole .45 ACP. Three mags fully loaded, enough to get to my Remington 700 in .308  Just kidding, wouldn't think of using my nearly 20lb 700 in a HD situation.

Pictures of the XD though:

smith and wesson model 581

Its reliable and accurate and shoots a great round that even my wife loves.

SP-101 loaded with .357's with a CT laser grip next to the bed, and a Stoeger Cougar in .40 S&W in the living room

1) My dog :D

2) My Kel Tec P-11 which is always in my pocket unless I'm under the shower! :D

3) A Bersa Thunder 40 (that is my usual full size CCW) is on my nightstand drawer.

4) A Mossberg 500 with 18.5 barrel stuffed with 00 buckshot is on my closet next to my bed.

Depending on the situation (if I spend time in the garage, working from my den, etc...) the Bersa and the Mossberg get moved around, I try to keep them always at easy reach.

All my other guns are in my safe.

I rely on these 3, deadly reliable and relatively inexpensive without a particular collector value...remember if s.... happens you are going to lose the firearms you used, at least for a very long time.....why use fancy hardware then....

Even if I live on a house, I feel the neighbours are too close to take a chance at using a high powered rifle as part of the home defense arsenal (even a .223 or a 30-30)
Nothing change a home invader's intentions faster than a pump shotgun....

80 Lb. Boxer (mostly an alarm system), Beretta 96 w/ speer GDHP and Browning Maxus 12ga. w/ buckshot.
