I know, I know, think POSITIVE.

But I'm just curious as to what folks are anticipating, what, with $5 gas, maxed out credit cards and recession and all.

What's on your shopping list if so?

Mags, uppers, spare parts, "barrel shroud thingies," etc?

poll is not listing the one option that accurately answers the question...

"six months ago"

just look at how many "new to AR & want to get one" threads going on here and other boards....

look at inventory levels and lead times for the best priced AR kits and rifles....

look at the "me too" venders jumping into the AR game (Charles Daily comes to mind) in anticipation of the fortune to be made in AR sales over the net year

What am I stocking up on? Reloading supplies!

Already bought my AR kit!! havent told the wife yet, but you know... $550.00 later I have a 16' M4 flat top awaiting the storm. Now i just need to stock up on ammo.

Well.....let's see. I bought 10 guns last year. I have most of what I want but there are some biggies that need filling. PTR and FAL are the only other rifles I would like to have in my collection before 2009.

I think I just did all my stocking up. I have filled out my wish list by buying six guns since March, and lots of ammo.

I'm quite the opposite with regard to Heller.

I'm either putting in the order for a converted Saiga AK so that I can enjoy it for more than just a couple months, or I'm going to cry and just save my money until its time to simply put down an investment.

I have 2 AR's and a couple of thousand rounds of .223 ammo. I have everything I need, but not necessarily everything I want. An M1A comes to mind. ;)

I'm not a negative thinker, but a year ago I began purchasing all of the firearms, ammunition and reloading supplies I wanted for the foreseeable future. No SHTF scenarios, but an uneasy feeling that, as time marches on, all of the above will become more scarce and more expensive. A couple days ago I told my wife (jokingly) that the Heller decision may tell me if I need to start selling everything. Her response was "sell it, heck, HIDE it". Gotta love her!

I don't panic

Prudent decisions as to firearms and ammo are always appropriate. There is certainly reason to be attentive to the coming Supreme Court decision and the new AWB currently in the House.

The majority of our citizens think "we" are nuts. So how can you even explain this to them. I would say that 9 out of 10 people are walking around in a daze, brought on by all those pills they advertise at night in prime time. Fibromialgia my butt. they invent new pills for new diseases to go along with them. The problem will be trying to hold on to your stuff when the zombies attack. I sure don't want the neighboors coming over to tell me I may have had a valid point, now they want some of my stuff.

Been stocked up for some time now. I have supplies to last me 10 years by my calculations, which is over estimating by saying i will use 2 boxes of ammo per gun per day.

Thats not counting the cleaning supplies, gun smithing supplies, reloading supplies, medical supplies, food rations, water and water purification supplies and the list goes on and on.

I am of the ain't nobody gonna catch me off guard mind set. and if i don't have to use it like it is intended it is all stuff i will use throughout my lifetime anyways so why not be prepared incase something should happen.

Also another good tip is buy from gun shows and the like as much as you can so they cannot track your guns down. and sell of any guns bought where you had to fill out the form and be sure you have it on record that you don't own the guns anymore so that if they do come knocking or kicking the door down your hidden stash will still be yours when you need it.

Why is Obama a choice? The guy can't enact anything let alone an AWB. You people scared stiff by a possible Obama presidency need to chill. He can't sign a thing that doesn't get to his desk.

We still must be vigilant. When you decide today will be a pleasant day so you don't carry your umbrella with you, by the afternoon, it is usually pouring. When you feel that you don't really need to take your cell phone along, chances are, you are going to wish you have it later on. When you promise your wife and kids you will definitely be back home for dinner, you might just encounter a traffic jam that you never encountered before.

Obama will potentially resort to ANYTHING to get his way, that means civil rights abuses as well. We have to be vigiliant all the time. You are aware of his political record, I am sure. He has hung out on the urban streets since he was very young. He has learned the culture of the streets. He can be as cunning and deceiving as a fox when he needs to be, and he can be as kind hearted and caring about the people on the outside as Dr. Ron Paul, yet wear an inner skin armed with venomous thorns. If he has to lie, deceive, and blackmail to get what he wants, he won't hesitate to do it either. The best way to counter such a politician is to be informed on every single level, and that means joining the NRA, or GOA, signing up for NRA-ILA Legislative Alerts, and participating in grassroots activism at a local level, and not to mention most importantly, interact with your fellow citizens and spread the latest news and information about the candidates. After all, a shark disguised as a dolphin is still a shark, but once we all know what creature it really is, and avoid it, it will have nothing to prey upon.

None of the above. It has already started. Well, maybe not panic buying, but you might call it contingency buying. Nearly everyone who comes in our store says he's buying now while he still can.

Our customers see NO FRIENDLY FACES in this year's election field.

+1 on the grounded in reality option.

Lots of people are running around gun forums squawking about what may happen in the future if two or three other possibilities coalesce to create this perfect gun grabbing storm.

There are things to worry about right now with regards to RKBA that don't involve speculation and such that we can all be working on and effecting positively.

Frankly, I'm surprised that no conspiracy theorists have accused some of the AR variant suppliers of posting all this nonsense to drive sales in a souring economy.
