When will panic buying end?

Will we see 5.56 ammo be more plentiful on the surplus market?

Well since Clinton made it illegal to sell US military surplus ammo to civilians the answer to that would be NO.

Now, we might see non surplus ammo prices come down a little since manufacturers will have their biggest customer eating less.

And maybe XM193 which is made from surplus components.

Not holding my breath though.

Anybody been shopping for bullets or brass at Midway?
It's looking pretty scarce with them being out of a lot of stuff, with no backorders on much of it.

This thread is funny from a historical perspective. Many people thought the panic buying would end in 2012 when Obama got voted out. Looks like that didnt happen. We are in the early stages of panic buying.

As far as I can tell, none of the major retailers (midway, brownells, etc) have any normal capacity Glock magazines in stock.

I guess the smart ones were the ones who bought during the last panic.... This one is about to be huge!

I work at a gun store and today was absolutely crazy, we did $23,000 in sales and about $35,000 between Friday and Monday!

We sold about ten AR-15's and a whole lot of high-cap mags today. We literally can't get anymore black rifles, all of our distributors are completely sold out of just about everything from semi-auto rifles to semi-auto handguns.

We ended up getting five brand new Sig 516's in today that we had ordered a while back and all of them sold withing a few hours of getting them lined in and on the rack, a couple didn't even make it to the rack!

That's good to read about certain metal prices falling around the world.

It seems as if only slipping back into recession would reduce ammo demand in the next few months.

But the many hidden costs of Obamacare could gradually help put us into a recession, stop growth, and the govt's game of printing more money will cause inflation to camouflage the situation.
I hope that I'm mistaken.

Be careful when responding to individual posts here, as they are 4 years old. I think this is an interesting necro post, because it lets us see what was going through THR's mind 4 years ago. When I started reading the posts, the only thing that confused me were the dates. I thought it was a current thread until I looked at the posting dates.

Yes, once he's been reelected, he now has nothing to lose, so I do fear he's going to try to push legislation. I just hope that the sheer number of people buying what would be "assault weapons" this past week lets him know that we don't want this.

When will the panic buying end? When BHO comes out and says "we have determined that an AWB would not have prevented this tragedy, and are not going to pursue such ban at this time."

HAH! Don't hold your breath.

I'm not holding my breath but its going to end only under one of three conditions:

1) The bill is cancelled or is proposed and dies.
2) BHO stamps down on buying.
3) BHO is out of office and a republican is in office.
