Where are good places to meet for a private FTF sale?

When i lived in central Texas, you needed to be able to meet people halfway, just out of politeness. So, you want a place that can be easily seen, from both directions.

I had(have) a bias for BBQ joint parking lots, if only for being able to have a bite either before or after.

Good question . . . We always meet in broad daylight in active parking lots such as Diners, Donut Shops and small strip malls. Amid the normal hub-bub out among the vehicles nobody takes notice of what's doing.

Years ago, I knew two idiots, both with firearms carry licenses who were transferring a rifle the legal way and got themselves into big trouble. They decided it would be cool to meet at night in the deserted financial district of Boston, Massachusetts. While sitting in the car on Water street near the Federal reserve bank looking suspicious, they were surrounded by police cruisers and arrested on a technicality of law. Though they were both licensed people and doing a Massachusetts state police long-arm paper transfer form, it was not a legal transaction. As it turned out, gun buying or trading on the public streets of Boston was illegal. One of the characters ended up doing prison time.

Perhaps it might be prudent to make sure that FTF deals, even though legitimate, are done on private and not public property. Still, cities and towns have oddball laws.
