I just purchased my s&w sigma series VE .40 cal and I love this handgun. Its perfect for me and it feels great when you carry it. One thing that I found out here in MS is that there aren't that many owners. So if you love this pistol as much as I do i'd like to here from yea. Feel free to show them off!!!

Peace and love

Here is one, I bought the sw9ve a couple of weeks ago. Took it to the range and sent 100 rounds of wwb down range with no issues. I like it and have no problems with the trigger pull.

I've had the original 40F model. I only shoot good factory brass ammo in it, but it has never had a problem. It does not have the best trigger in the world, but it works.

jpalmer, Got one too. SW40VE, carry weapon, take it to the range quite often. Got a great Target of Osama bin Laden with a smiley face on it! Shot at 10 yards. Shoots great for a "plastic" pistol. Was cheap too, On sale for $299.00. Like the 14 +1 also. My first .40 i've ever got. I'll see if i can get a picture posted.

I lovED mine......great feel in the hands! but sadly I was forced to sell the gun due to financial issues about a year ago......the guy i sold it to offers to sell it back but he jacked up the price! :(

+1 for a Sigma dude. I love mine! I actually experienced a slight issue with mine and S&W ishaving me ship it back, so I'll get to test out the S&W support... I'll be sure to post about my experience when it's all said and done. As a matter of fact, I will be shipping it off to them today! Aside from my issue, I love it and even still, it has been 100% reliable. I have 400 down the pipe with zero FTF/FTE.

For those wondering, the issue is, if I ride the slide forward when racking it, it seems to snag on something when it's about 4mm from it's normal resting position. Also, there is a clicking noise coming from the trigger area. If I slingshot the slide, it's fine. I am more concerned eith the clicking coming from the trigger area.

Anyway, I enjoy shooting it, hopefully it'll be returned soon so I can get back to the range.

Keep shootin'

I've had no probelm with my Sigma. I'm a big fan of the pistol.

Have noticed that the thing is pretty tight, like skeptiq mine snags if I let the slde back slowly. No problem with it though, if that happens just slight tap on the slide with the heal of my hand, no real pressure involved, sets it just fine.

I've put about a 12 - 15 hundreds rounds through it with everything from cheap range ammo, to high quality manufactured, to reloads, and never had a FTF, or even a miss fire.

I don't claim it's the perfect pistol, and I still like to fire other weapons, but for me the Sigma is my carry weapon of choice, and I just can't understand those who rag on me that I should get "get rid of that piece of ****" and buy the weapon they like because it's so much better. I especially don't understand it when everyone one of those people I've taken to the range has failed to outshoot me with their _________ (fill in your choice of favorite pistol).

Sigmas are fine firearms and don't let anyone tell you differently. They are a no-frills ultra reliable shooter that has nothing to apologize for in the handgun world.

The Sigma does have a very heavy trigger (Thanks to the Glock lawsuit), but many fine handguns have heavy triggers as well. And, those heavy triggers can be smithed to half of the original pull weight if you know what you are doing. The sigma will also eat anything you feed it... they are not picky about ammunition brands like some higher priced pistols.

I no longer own a Sigma, but I was never ashamed that it was part of my stable. I was so confident in the overall quality of the Sigma that I actually sold mine to my boss... Now that is confidence.

The SW9VE is my first pistol, and I love it. I've put 1000+ rounds through it w/out an issue - no FTF's or FTE's. The trigger pull is deliberate, which was actually a reason I bought it.

I rented a Glock 19, Sig P6, and S&W MP9 before buying. Didn't like the hyperlight trigger of the G19 nor the ergo's, wasn't confident enough in what I saw to buy a used P6 (nor was I ready for a DA/SA for my first gun), and the M&P was a bit spendy for my budget at the time, but Sigma was juuust right. ;)

I'm hoping to pick up a Beretta PX4 9mm next month, but the Sigma will be staying w/me no matter what. My Allied Forces just needs a friend, that's all. :D

I have the 9ve, and while not the "nicest" gun I own or have shot, its certainly worth every bit of the roughly $200 I paid for it NIB (marked at 329.99, rang up at $300, 50 dollar gift card, 50 dollar S&W rebate). I haven't shot it extensively yet (weather SUCKS here right now) but the few hundred I've put downrange without a single issue inspire confidence. I don't like the trigger, but nor do I hate it. I'd rather a carry gun have a slightly heavier trigger than I care for thannone thats too light. Don't carry it as of now, but will as soon as I acquire a properly fitting holster and have practiced with it a bit more.

I like my 9VE, I like it a lot. After a trip to S&W for 7 light primer strikes and 2 stovepipes early on it's perfect. They polished the feed ramp and opened up the throat. Replaced the recoil rod and spring and "adjusted" the trigger. After about 1000 rounds and countless dry fires, a little MilTec grease and oil the trigger is great. Still long and hard but a very predictable break. I find if I "pull" instead of "squeeeezzze" the trigger I'm right on target. It'll never be a 1911 but it's a great gun for self defense and killing targets as well. If you don't like the trigger, before you compromise reliability by changing or removing springs let S&W do the voodoo they do. They pay shipping and you'll have it back in 10 days.

Thomas,

That happens all the time. Mag, Mag loaded with snap caps, Mag loaded with live rounds, no Mag at all... My daughter was sick yesterday so hopefully I'll get to stick it in the mail today.

WHOA, skeptiq

Unless you're an FFL, I believe it would be highly illegal to MAIL your pistol, even to the manufacturer. Just being careful here. If I'm wrong, someone will correct me.

BTW, I love my Sigma 40ve!!
