Where are reloading components available (Not a Discussion Thread)

CatPuke - I like ordering powder in 1# containers - if you read up on fire issues, 1# containers are less likely to start a fire. (They will melt down, but generally don't self ignite). Also, it makes it harder to accidently contaminate a huge jug of powder - if you accidently dump your dispenser of 231 into a jug of wsf, for example.. i know, it shouldnt ever happen, but for $2 a pound, i'd rather have little jugs. If I decide to load something different later, 1# jugs that are sealed still have value - 7#'s of your powder in an open jug.. i'd have to be desperate..

Concern about contaminating a big jug of powder is a good point. It made me think I might treat this like my gasoline supply and pour from the big cans into a single, smaller, easier to handle, and more compact to have about, working supply container. I suppose any empty one pounder would be hard to beat as a good choice of small container.

So far I have multiple 4 pounders from a few years ago. Thanks for the inspiration, because the more current 8 pounders will be worse to handle and with more powder at risk.

I also use one pounders to dispense powder into my measure. I keep them re-filled with the bigger jugs. The 4,5 or 8 pound jugs are stored separately. I buy one pounders for testing, then larger jugs for stuff I like.

I think if you're loading rifle rounds, where you need over a pound for 1k of projectiles, 8# jugs are the way to go - but in pistol calibers, where you might get 1500 rounds/pound, the little jugs are just fine.. $2 "extra" per 1,000 rounds isn't a big penalty for using the little jugs.. plus, you can line the little jugs up like bowling pins, snap a pic & post it on Facebook.. *WHAT* ammo shortage?!"..

For what it's worth, I placed an order for Unique and cast bullets from Recobs Target Shop. A full week later, I got a call informing they couldn't fulfill any of it. At least they didn't dabble on my credit card.

Pretty much what I do as well, it's really nice to have the convenience of the one-pound jars with the cost savings of kegs.

On the one pound jugs I use to dispense 8 pound powder, I mark through the lot number and write "see 8#". Just in case.

Amazon is a good place to check for dies and such. I found my Lee .452 bullet sizer there, when I couldn't locate it with suppliers where I had the rest of my bullet casting outfit order. I also found a Hornady .45 ACP die set for someone else, and they had a good array of Lee die sets for common calibers, either 4 die sets or 3 die and the separate FCD. Shipping is "free", so you have to consider that, when looking at their prices. This is all Amazon as the seller, not the storefront for some smaller outfit.

Palmetto State Armory has the 6000 box of Hornady 55gr. FMJ-BT for $700

11 cents a bullet isn't horrible...but at that quantity it is just too much IMO
