Where can I find government numbers relating to the number of defensive gun uses? I looked on the CDC and FBI websites, but I didn't have any luck.

AFAIK, they don't exist, only documented uses resulting in injury or death (i.e murder, suicide, accident, etc.) at doj.gov or cdc.gov (not trustworthy - they have their own agenda).

Therein lies the rub. An awful lot of defensive firearm uses, some estimated as high as 98+%, are just a simple display along with an announcement that 'I'm prepared to defend myself' results in the bad guy deciding they have something else to do, and teh vast majority go unreported. This is, in fact, a bad idea, in that if the bad guy calls the cops and says you threatened them before you do, it will cause you a large load of ca-ca and inconvenience if you don't call first and alert the 'authorities' that you were menaced to the point that you had to show your weapon.

I understand that most people just don't want the hassle/aggravation, especially if they're not on their own property or not properly licensed (what part of "shall not be infringed . . . ") to be carrying, or in some other questionalble circumstance, etc., but if you don't exercise you're rights . . . .

In the mean time, join the NRA/GOA/JPFO/SAS, get a CWP, and get active on writing you congress critters on RKBA. See also guntruths.com, rkba.org, etc.

Carry on.
