I have an unissued Lee-Enfield that does not have the magazine. Where could I find these?

I bet it would be pretty difficult to find an unissued magazine?

Thanks.

"...have an unissued Lee-Enfield..." Highly unlikely. Possible, at extreme cost, but not likely. Mags came with the rifle and only one per rifle. The rifle was fed with stripper clips/chargers.
In any case, which one? A No. 4 Mk I(rear sight on the receiver)? A No. 1 Mk III(rear sight on the barrel)?
Gunparts has No. 4 mags. Definitely not new, at $41.95 each. No. 1 mags run $31.45 each(not new either). They're not interchangeable.

Try SOG

Try Southern Ohio Guns. They have used, original magazines for Enfields that are in good shape. They don't advertise them because they don't keep a lot of them in stock. :scrutiny:

I tried some cheap ass ProMag reproduction magazines in my Enfields and had nothing but trouble. They don't feed well and the magazine falls out of the gun and into the dirt about every 3rd round you fire. :cuss:

I did not have this problem with the used, original mags I bought from SOG. The original magazines are not cheap. I paid $40+ along with shipping, handling and insurance for mine but they are well worth it. They are not pretty but they work great in all my Enfields. :uhoh:

I found the folks at SOG to be very good people to deal with. If they don't have what you need, they will try to get it for you and call you back when they find what you need. Here is a link to their site. I think it is well worth giving them a call. ;)

Southern Ohio Guns International, Inc.

Good luck with that Enfield. I think you will like it. I have several. I think they are great guns.

"...the magazine falls out of the gun and into the dirt about every 3rd round you fire..." Very likely the wrong mag. A No. 1 mag has two locking lugs on the back. A No. 4 mag has one. A No. 1 mag will not lock into a No. 4 Rifle. You try can grinding off the bottom lug of a No. 1 mag and hope it locks in a No. 4 though.
I'd be very leery about a place that retails a 5 round mag for the same price as a 10 round mag. Plastic followers don't cut it either.

By the way, it says this on the receiver:

No4 MK2

It looks just like this (just from a google search, resulting in a site called "http://enfieldrifles.profusehost.net")

Maybe it's not "unissued", but it sure looks like it. Maybe it's arsenal redone or something, but it looks unused. Are these safe to fire?

There are no manufacturer markings that I can find on it.

Thanks.

Springfield Sporters has close to unissued. I recently bought a replacement for a Savage, and the thing is too nice. Looks out of place on the rifle.
