I found one I forgot I had ,a friend gave it to me years ago , I dont believe I ever shot it. Might have to take it to the range and see if it even works !

Saw one this evening while getting ready to go to work. :neener: Only problem I had with mine was the front sight kept falling off. Ghu knows where the sight is now. I need to get another cheap x4 scope for it again.

Saw one this evening while getting ready to go to work. Only problem I had with mine was the front sight kept falling off. Ghu knows where the sight is now. I need to get another cheap x4 scope for it.

It deserves more than a cheap scope. After I cemented the barrel into the receiver and mounted a Leupold 4X on it, my bolt action Mod 11 turned into the most accurate .22 I have. (The barrel is a press-fit and pinned to the receiver as it comes from the factory.)

When sighting in with the scope, the recoil is not sufficient to re-settle the crosshairs after an adjustment in most scopes. I found it paid to lighly tap the scope or butt of the (unloaded) rifle to settle the adjustments in before taking the next group. Otherwise, you'll be chasing the point of impact around all day. Don't ask how I know.

And when you could buy .22 shorts anywhere, I loved popping miscellaneous little targets with it. Real quiet, and it fed the shorts with 100% reliability from the box magazine.

Someone remarked that the trigger was mushy in his semiauto. My bolt rifle's trigger is crisp and clean and sweet. I had a Remington target .22 (thumbhole stock, adjustable palm rest, bull barrel, the whole bit) whose bolt was the same as my 66's.

Run a dry patch through it to clear out the cobwebs and earwigs first.

Toothbrush the bolt face and extractor claw hole, too.

Try some standard velocity rounds. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Dear W.E.G. We have no plans to bring it back. All of the tooling is gone and price would be a prohibitive factor. Thanks!

Who do I speak to in order to discuss the minimum number of units that would be required to do a special run of the Nylon 66 .22 rimfire rifle?

W.E.G.,

Magtech imported the nylon 66 rifle about 10 years ago. The rifle was produced by CBC in Brazil. We no longer import firearms from them as Mossberg took over importing the .22 rifles. Currently we only import small arms ammunition.

We no longer have parts for that specific rifle. I don’t think you will find any parts in the states.

Sorry for the lack of good information,

Do not try to install the factory sling on a 66. The plastic stock will split along the 'glue line'. A bit of surgical tubing and a re-glue job will take of that though.

At that time Remington offered a sling for the 66. I ordered the sling and a few extra parts.

The sling wasn't a great idea.

salty.

Is your company still able to produce this rifle?

What is the minimum order size?

What is the price per unit?

Does the tooling still exist?

Is the tooling still in possession of your company?

If your company no longer possesses the tooling, do you know where the tooling is now located?

my dad has one and one day it will be mine, well i guess i could smooth talk him into givin it up now i guess, i love that thing.

my first rifle was a nylon 77 10C (magazine fed 10 shot repeater). got it for like my 9th or 10th birthday. pretty cool cuz my great grand father bought it brand new in the 70's and it got passed down all the way to me. it is by far my favorite rifle and i dont even want to guess how many rounds have gone down that tube.

I've got the Nylon 66 Mom bought Dad for X-Mas before I was born. Ser# dates it 1959. Still in good shape. It was Daddy's favorite. It ain't going nowhere.

I enjoyed reading about the Nylon 66s. There were a bunch of different variations including bolt actions, box mag fed, lever actions etc. There is a lot of historical infomation on the 66 and other nylon rifles at the main page at.

www.nylonrifles.com

Interesting about the brazillian import rifles. They were made by CBC in brazil from the early 1960s on. Remington sold them the rights to make them in South America, they did not give them the machines, dies etc. But they were only imported into the US in the 1980s about the time Remington stopped making the 66. The CBC was actually imported by four different companies, FIE, Magtech, Century and Kassner. All were the same rifle. They had a black stock with a white diamond, blue metal. This was a version Remington didn't make.

nylon 66

i just bought a nylon 66 for $75.00 it is the first one i've seen in about 16 years, it is in A-1 shape..
