I recently purchased a CZ75 9mm NIB that was manufactured in 1997. Its dual tone and has a red dot open target sight attached to it. It was supposed to come with a 10 and 15 round magazine. However when the gun shop pulled the box, the 15 round was missing.

In its place another 10 round. He figured a sales person at some point sold the 15 with another CZ and I ended up with the ten. He made it worth my while to still purchase the gun. Of course I would like to find a 15 round magazine for it.

Are these available pre ban? I called CZ but they told me they don't have any to sell and no suggestions where I might find one.

Any suggestion where I might be able to still get one?

Thanks!

A few years ago, I called CZ-USA (800 955-4486) and bought a "15 rounder", which was delivered within days.

CDNN has hi-cap factory mags for the CZ. CZ no longer has any in stock.

CDNN

CDNN also has a new website expressly for internet sales...

Targetsportsinc

A number of other firms offer after-market mags for the CZ, but they seldom work as well as factory mags. (One exception is Mec-Gar, which is now the source for CZ factory mags.) After market mags will almost NEVER work with older (pre-"B" model) CZs.

I bought an EAA Witness 9mm 16-round mag for my CZ 75B from www.cdnninvestments.com for $29.99. Works perfectly, does hang a bit below the bottom of the gun and the baseplate doesn't match the factory mags, but I don't mind.

CDNN's ad says "not for CZ" But after reading the magazine FAQ at czforum.com I guessed they were refering to the pre-B CZ guns and took a chance. Glad I did.

Let's keep up the pressure on the congress critters so this becomes moot in September!

Mags for Witnesses and other CZ "clones" generally will work, but sometimes won't LOCK in place, or if they lock in, won't drop free.

That is because the Tanfoglio guns have their mag release set just a hair higher in the grip frame than do CZs.

To make them work -- if they don't -- simply enlarge the top side of the mag release notch on the mag tube. A flat needle file or Dremel can be used. It doesn't take much metal removed to really make a big difference.

I purchased my standard capacity magazine from www.fourfourmag.com

The magazine shipped very promptly, and worked great out of the box. The spring is a little weak - but I am yet to experience any failures with it in about 250 rounds thusfar.

I'd check them out, and they also advertise 17 rd mags available - I'm thinking about checking that out later as well.

Thank you

Thanks for the replies. I will order one this week.

I appreciate everyone's help.

I ordered two from fourfourmag.com and tried to get some more but had a very difficult time with them. They ended up leaving a very bad taste in my mouth. I will not buy from them again. Unless I am really desperate.

Mag swiping!!!

Isn't it funny how these gun shops traded out the standard capacity mag that was supposed to be supplied with pre ban pistols that they happened to have in their inventory with Klintonized mags, just so they could make more profit on them??

I was almost persuaded to purchase a pre ban Smith .40 cal Sigma that my FFL had in his case for a LOOOOOOONG time. The price was right and I was just about to reach for my wallet, when I asked about mags. I knew the gun was pre ban because I had him look up the arrival date in his bound book. I ejected the mag that was in the pistol and it was of the Klinton variety!! I then had him look in the box and found the same!! The gun stayed where it was!! :banghead: :fire:

Be sure to read the fine print on Cheaper Than Dirt magazines -- "not factory mags unless otherwise stated". If it's not factory and they don't say Mecgar or ProMag it'll likely be USA --- IMHO save your money.

I've bought stuff from CTD and got good service, but the mag listings in their catalogs have been rather deceptive in my opinion.

I got a mag from CTD for my 75B. It was total crap. did even go into the pistol all the way. It kept hanging up on the mag catch. Great customer service though.

The ones from CTD are USA brand mags and they are low quality. I bought six of them and they required extensive filing and fitting to get to fit into the gun properly. Worked fine ever since, the mag shells just interfered with the trigger bar as made.
