I am looking to buy or build a new ar-15. I have a lack of patience for waiting for the parts for my rifle. One rifle I can have a shipped to me immediately is the Stag-15 with A.R.M.S. #40 A2 Model 2 Pre-Ban.

I have also been considering building a rifle. Using a Fulton Armory Guardian upper RRA or Stag lower. I would buy a lower parts kit from who ever has a decent price, add a RRA 2 stage trigger and a 6 Pos. buttstock. The problem is Fulton Armory is backorderd 4-6 weeks on there upper. The only parts I would have to add to the Stag is the RRA 2 stage trigger, and four rail forearm assembly. Also I would prefer a chrome lined barrel.

Thanks,

Jeff

You sound like you have a good plan... so what's your question Jeff? :p

I have the RRA 2 stage trigger on a couple of my ARs and like it very much. It breaks clean and is smooth without being too light.

I thnk RRA parts are great. Most of the parts on my rifle are from them. I've used some DPMS parts too because they were readily available or cheaper.

If you want a chrome lined barrel, you can get really nice barrels made of 4150 steel from Bushmaster. They are all chrome lined except the CMP barrels. I built a 20" A2 around one of their barrels.

I bought an RRA Chrome lined midlength barrel from www.adcofirearms.com You can get it with a complete upper or just the barrel. Steve could assemble an upper for you from whatever parts you want if you don't have the barrel wrench and reciever block. I buy almost all my RRA parts from them.

An article that I read on the Guardian was actually my inspiration for this carbine. It's all RRA except for the Eagle Arms lower reciever.

Look at Olympic Arms. There warranty is as good as they come. I bought the parts from them and a few other manufacturers and built my own. I know some people don't like Olympic but I would put mine up agains any other Manufacturers AR. I also have a Rock River I am very happy with.

Here are my Olympics

DMK, your rifle looks great. I want to buy an AR one day, but for now I'll have to be content with my K98 8x57 bring-home mauser. Thanks again for posting the pic, especially with the frog-sticker attached!

It was more of a plea for help. :banghead:
After 2 weeks of research, the 2 options above were the most attractive.

I have heard good things about Stag lowers are there complete rifles any good? The price and availability is what attracted me to this option.

I have also read and heard great things about Fulton Armory. Are there uppers worth a few extra bucks?

RRA was my first option but the 3-4 month wait for my rifle is a bit long. www.adcofirearms.com seems to have what ever RRA product I would need, so that is option #3.

Thanks again,
Jeff

Stag i suppose to be good.

I am working on an AR right now. All I have is a stripped DPMS lower. I either plan on ordering a Del-Ton kit to finish it, or a Sarco M16 parts kit to finish it. Still trying to decide.

look at the pictures of Heckle and Jeckle on this site. They are Colts. I got one of them on EE at ar15.com. I also have a Bushmaster and a RR which are very fine rifles. Go to ar15.com and compare prices from dealers who will give you a list of FFL holders in your area.

I have tried to register at ar15.com but it dosent allow hotmail. I have done some looking on ar15.com and has helped a good amount thanks.

I was going to suggest ADCO. I have no experience with them, but they were the best deal I found when I was going to build up an RRA rifle for shooting matches.

www.whiteoakprecision.com seems to be the most recommended for an upper, a new barrel or a tune-up if you want to start with the best or you start outshooting your rifle's accuracy. John Holliger is a well-respected shooter/gunsmith. They also now sell complete rifles.

I ended up stumbling across a good used deal locally.
