Glock gets honorable mention, along with Hi-point, but these two have gone above and beyond the call of "dooty" by producing same in BOTH handguns and longguns.
 
Man, I can't believe you left out Glock! Only two choices on a poll?

Before anyone jumps all over that, remember, the OP asked about "ugly", not functionality. Glock is a fine sidearm for its purpose.

I voted for the Japanese, FWIW.
 
My Rugers are so ugly, they are beautiful. SP101, Redhawk, Blackhawk, Mk 77. Beautiful ugly guns!!
 
There are others out there, but if we are choosing between the Japenese & Ruger, Japan wins hands down.
 
Ruger is far lower on the list of ugly guns than Japan, Hi-point (what are all those lumps on the carbine for???), etc.

Hi-points were originally designed by Black and Decker after they decided they needed a power drill to fire cartridges.
 
+1 for Hi-Point. Make that +6, one for each model.

Premium Sauces...you crack me up every time I see your username. You come up with some amusing threads, too.

FWIW I would rather look at a Ruger catalog than most of the tupperware guns.
 
Japan is really bad and WW2 was also a war on aesthetics. But the Ruger Super Redhawk's target grey finish just looks like a bad primer coat on a Corvette.

Love the gun, hate the look. Still shoot it though.

Where else are you going to find a decent 454 under a grand without a stretch cylinder like the 460S&W?
 
Ruger's got a few dogs (Blackhawk revolvers look like mutated SAAs, and the P-series is just not aesthetic) but they score some points back for functionality. Japan's stuff is fugly and underpowered (at best - and then you've got the handgun with the exposed sear and so forth).

And, I'm sorry, but I'd rank Hi-Point above Ruger and Glock as far as sheer ugliness. They're functional, but man, if ever there was a gun I wish I could put a paper bag over before shooting...
 
Ruger shouldn't even be in this poll. Where's Lorcin, Raven, Highpoint, Grendel, Kel-Tec, etc.? I mean, HK makes a lot of uglier stuff than Ruger. And Ruger is balanced with things like the #1 single shot, their shotguns, etc.

Hi-point carbines always remind me of the rifles in the old Planet of the Apes movies.

Just me.
 
I do own 3 Hi Points but I will admit they are the ugliest guns I have ever seen but atleast they are intimidating from the front.
