If it's just for plinking and such, I'd go with the Storm. I've heard it's very enjoyable to shoot, it's chambered in 9mm (Cheap and good for introducing new shooters), and it just looks frickin cool. Also it takes existing Beretta mags, which means you can use any full-capacity magazines you may have, or pick some up for rather cheap.
The 357 has it all over the other long gun choices here, for plinking fun (IMHO) and for range of power (for sure). I love my Marlin; it's accurate and flat shooting to around a hundred yards (with 357); gentle as a 22 (with standard 38); and just dang fun to work. Others who have'em will be along soon to corroborate my rave.
Since you have the Vertec in 9mm, you can use the mags with the Storm also. Great carbine I think. I like it a lot. Feels good to handle and everything.
Having just spent the day at the range tinkering with a lever action in the Cowboy Action Shooting section I voted for the Marlin. Marlins are exceedingly good guns anyway and the lever actions are just plain fun to shoot. I went through a 100 rounds way too fast and was wishing I had bought more ammo. I'll be ordering one of the Marlin's in 45LC real soon so I can compete and just for general plinking (I know, I know, 45LC is more expensive than 38/357...I just really like the caliber and a friend has reloading dies for the 45LC).
I gotta go with the lever gun. Everybody needs a lever gun and the Marlin is a fine example.
Only reason I didn't choose the M1 Carbine is because I would prefer it to be a real war baby and I am not sure if the Fultons are real war babies or not. If they are actual GI guns refinished than that is the route I would go.
Levers do seem like fun guns, and it's one of those things that every gun collector needs. I went with the Storm, because if it's sole purpose is plinking it might as well have a novelty effect too, and I think the look of the Storm gives it a good novelty effect.
I voted M1 Carbine, but after looking at your gun list I would vote for both a Home Defense 12 Ga and a M1 Garand (or M1A). Use your handgun to fight your way to a real weapon!
