Anyone done any studies of the registration info to see which state has the most disproportionatly large number of THR members? Since almost all THR members fall under two overlapping categories, "guns owners" and "web forum users", that pretty much rules out states like montana and massachucetts. My guess it would be a state like virginia or north carolina, relatively high gun owning percentage, and relatively high web forum users.

Anyone got any ideas?

Maybe Texas? We're a big state, big population, good gun laws, CCW allowed...

Here's another Texan checking in!~:D

I would suspect that it would be something like this:

1. Tennessee
2. Texas
3. California
4. New England
5. Pennsylvania

Dunno.. Hope wally checks this thread and can pinpoint the location of A&R gun range. That would rock.

I remember reading - maybe 10 years ago - that Alaska had the highest per-capita NRA membership, New Hampshire was second. There may be a link from that to THR members/state population?

Interesting question just the same.

I wasn't able to add myself. Couldn't figure out how to move the pin. No amount of clicking and dragging would make it budge.
Click the join button in the upper left corner of the map, then click on "move this pin" in the balloon that pops up. Just enter a zip code in the new box that comes up.

Disproportionate

"Which state has the most disproportionate number of THR members?"

Too many or too few?
I have added myself.

Just so I can put Maryland on the map so to speak. We are here on THR, physically and in spirit just not politically.

Because I like to send out pm's directing people to certain threads, I have been accumulating names from Maryland THR users in my "buddy list".

I have 133 names of MD THR users.

That has to qualify as disproportionate. :)
