Ok so as I read all over the net one gets bombarded with all the bad of the the PT-Whatever Millennium Pro pistols. Now as many are sure to agree much of the bad on the net should only be taken with a grain of salt since as a society we only tend to harp on the bad and not mention the good. I just purchased a PT-145 3rd gen as a CCW piece because the price was absolutely right and I want to like the gun because of the impressive features it has that other guns of this size and style just don't have. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I'm really hoping it serves me well. With that said Id like to hear those who have had good experiences with the gun. Lord knows all the bad is every where so I just would like to have my spirits lifted up with some of the good. Even with the attitude I have regarding the net and some of the poor info you get from it I still find myself second guessing my purchase. The range will truly be the deciding factor but hell I'm human! ;)

Pt-111 Pro 2nd Series, 1.5k-3k rounds (or more - stopped counting a while ago), not a single failure of any kind, yadda yadda. I'm getting tired of writing it when people ask. :p When it was new, it had perfect (I thought it was magnetic at first) lock up and part fit. Things have worn in a bit, but it's still damn perfect.

I'll probably replace the parts that are subject to wear in another 1k rounds or so (slide stop, springs) just in case.

The millenium's history with me is interesting. The WORST handgun I ever owned was a 1st gen (early) millenium in 9mm about 7-8 years ago, when they first came out. HORRIBLE trigger. The worst I've ever seen. Looong, gritty, and broke at an odd time. Unreliable. Niether I nor anyone else could hit the broad side of a blimp hanger with it.:barf:

Now, I just recently bought a 3rd gen millenium pro in 9mm....and it's one of my all-time favorite guns. :D Light, smooth, clean trigger, accurate, 100% reliable thus far. The overall fit and finish seems drasticaly improved; sights, slide, even the frame feels different (the 1st gen polymer felt like it was cheap and would crack (it didn't)). I don't know if they switched polymer materials, but the new ones are very sturdy.

So I went from hating them passionately to using one as a primary carry often.

Go figure.

Thanks you for refraining because in all honesty Iv probally read it some where. Or at least somthing like it. :D

Experiences with Taurus firearms vary greatly and run the gamut of critisizms and hyperbole.

I've had very good luck with Taurus autos, but I've had dismal luck with thier revolvers. They always break on me (every one). YMMV.

Weird thing about Taurus-designed pistols is that they seem to be hit-or-miss. I've never, ever heard of someone who's owned one and had only a couple of problems, or minor problems. It's either "it runs like a Swiss watch" or "it runs like a Yugo". It appears that it may be due to the pistol being fairly finely tuned, or at the least finely balanced.

I've had good luck so far with my 2 Taurus firearms. I have a 6 inch .44 mag revolver, and a Mil Pro in .45 ACP. The model on the .45 is PT 745 C. It's DAO, so I think it's a second gen?

I've put roughly 200 down the pipe with the only problem being it still hangs up with hollow points just a bit...but with that steep of a feed ramp I can understand why. The revolver was bought used and had seen a few boxes of shells. Both are extremely accurate as I got them, no adjustements yet.

All in all, IMO the quality isn't the best and neither is the reputation, but I'd trust my life with either.

taurus pt111 milpro// great gun

:):)i have a mil pro pt111, 3rd generation. ive had the gun about a month and just love it. have put about 1000 rounds so far. i do think i had some sort of failure about 2 weeks ago but i cant remember what it was. i think it was a ftf on some soft tipped hp ammo. shot 200 rounds today with no problems. had the chance to shoot a glock for the first time today from a guy in the next lane. liked mine better. he shot mine, about 15 rouonds, then wrote down the info on my gun. the only problem if find in with the sights. they are good sights but with my bad vision i have trouble finding them sometimes. very accurate though. am going to put on night sights next week. love the gun, thinking about another just to have. :):):)

Did not particulary like the .40 S&W version, not a bad gun , just very loud and I did not like the muzzle flip on the .40 average performance at range.
9mm and .380's seem to handle better for me anyway. Friend had .45 and it seemed OK.

I for one Like Taurus Firearms... I will admit they have come a long way in Quality, Fit & Finish. But I have never had one break or malfunction.

And thats out of:
1- .22 8 shot rev.
1- .38 special
2- .357 Old Satin nickel
2- .357 new style 7 shot (nice)
6- 9mms(various models)
1- .41 Magnum Tracker
1- .44 Magnum Tracker
3- PT58- .380
2- PT58HC - .380 (new) these are awesome (19 rounds of fun)
1 - Taurus .22 auto
2- Taurus .25 Auto
1 - Mellinium .40
1 - Mellinium 9mm
1 - Mellinium .380 (traded .40 for it) perfect carry piece to me.

Hey Tomcat47, with all that Taurus revolver experience, did you ever have an issue with the firing pin spring failing or coming out? I had 2 model 85's and they both had problems with that.

Wait STOP dont go shoot it yet, its a horrable pistol and I feel it is my duty to take it off your hands for half what you paid for it :D

All jokeing aside I love mine and it has been 100%

Then again so has my PT1911 both my 24/7Pro 45's My PT92 my pt22 and pt25 along with my wifes PT111Pro and my Dads PT1911 have all been perfect :D

Yes indeedy. Have a PT111 Mil/pro with at least 3000 rounds through it and no troubles. That goes with the PT22 in semi-auto guise and models 65, 66, 85CH, and a 94 in revolver guise.

Have had nothing but sterling service form them all. The revolvers except for the 94, are all 15+ years old. Cylinder is tight. No end shake. Lock up is solid on all of them still.

2nd generation Pt111. It's been perfect. over 1000 rnds. Don't shoot +p and follow the ammunition recomendations and you will be fine. I've noticed some people don't feel safe unless they load them with 147gn +p+ and then complain that they break. ;)

I have the latest gen MilPro PT140. I was just in GA and shot 400 rounds the other day. No problems at all. That makes about 1,500 rounds through it without and problems. Now I know that is not a ton of rounds but it has proven itself to me for CCW. Thankfully all my Taurus purchases have worked flawlessly.

My Gen 2 will alas, have to go back to the factory. Fit and function are flawless but it shoots SO low that I practically have to aim at the ceiling to put one on the target. I've never seen anything like it.

Can someone recommend a good quality ccw holster and belt for a Mil Pro? Just signed up for my CCW class yesterday :)

My PT-140 Pro was doing great until the dis-assembly latch pin snapped in two. I sent the pin back the Taurus asking for a replacement, I called them first, they said "send us the part". That was two weeks ago, still waiting for the new one. Taurus customer service sucks. BTW, I haven't shot any +p ammo in mine, there really is none in the 40 S&W. Its all been mild reloads and factory fiocchi ammo.

I have been carrying my PT145 in the same holster that my XD 45 uses, a Galco IWB. Both guns have an almost identical cross section. The barrel and butt on the XD are longer, but that is about it. The holster is thin, light, and comfortable. It just clips onto whatever belt you are wearing, although it rides a little better on a wider belt than on a narrower one.

skud dusty....... I reccomend wild bills concealment to solve your problem.
they carry good quality stuff. G-Code is one I reccomend. There are a lot of good holsters out there. www.wildbillsconcealment.com

Glockorama..I had no problems with my 85, however I believe a friend had the same issue you had with the spring in his 85.

Redneck with a 40...hate to hear of your problems. Have you e-mailed or called customer service?

Good luck here with a Taurus Mil Pro PT 111 9mm. 2nd Generation. It has been absolutely flawless and very accurate.
