Kim Ahrends - talk to Mrs. Ahrends at (515) 532-3449, or e-mail at [email protected] - no website. I hae his Moradillo (hardwood from Bolivia and Columbia) and Cocobolo grips on two RB Ns, and a K. NICE NICE NICE grains and fit.
if you are REALLY ready to step up to the best...try roy fishpaw custom grips...i'm at work and don't have a number, maybe someone else can help with a contact number
Roy Fishpaws' waiting list runs around 12 months, plus or minus. His walnut starts at $200. He must have the gun for the final fitting. Is he worth all of this?.....YES!!! Deacon Deason, whom I respected mightily, called him the emperor of grip makers, and Deac was no slouch by any standard.
In my opinion, Craig Spegel makes some of the finest handgun stocks on the market today. His "Boot Grip" works especially well with the small snubby's. He works primarily with Coco Bolo, which is a tough and attractive South American wood.
For less than a $100, you will get a work of art.
You can also post over at Smith and Wesson Fourm if the grips are for a Smith. One of the guys over there buys Spegels in bulk and sells them over the net. He seems to favor DARK wood so ask him for pics before you buy.
