Looking for a cast bullet vendor who sells a .357 (.358 is OK) 173gr. Keith type LSWC.

Everyone has 158 LSWC, but I am looking for something close to the old H&G #43 with the flat base.

I suppose a Lyman 358429 type would do, but the H&G #43 bullet is what I really want. Hardness of 15-18 would be ideal.

Anyone know a company making (or who would make for a minimum order) this bullet?

Thanks...

Bevel-base vs. Flat-base

rc, speaking only for myself here, and on behalf of Missouri Bullet Company, Magma moulds for flat-base bullets drop the bullets as easily as they do the bevel-base ones, which is every single time the air-hammer bullet knockers hit the moulds on both sides. If a mould is "sticky", we just dial up the bullet knocker for multiple whaps and if it is still sticky, well, it's time to clean the mould(s)!

We have both types of moulds, all Magma, and have many more bevel-base ones because that is what most customers want. I personally much prefer seating a bevel-base bullet in my 550B and most of our customers seem to, also. I will say that the few flat-base ones we do have were purchased in response to direct customer requests, such as the 165 grain .44 and some other ones I don't remember at the moment because we use them so rarely.

Just FWIW.

Careful on the H&G #43, when loaded into .357 mag brass, that thick front driving band made them too long to seat in any Smith or Ruger revolvers I own. I went to the 358429 and that one works great in .38 OR .357 mag brass in all my .357's.
