Why did Colt stop making the Commander?

Ya, that was there when I found the poor thing on the bottom shelf of my local shop's display. It had pachmyer wrap arounds and when I asked to see it the owner of the place looked at me with an incredulous expression, asking: "The nine??"

Took it away for $400. and I think he thinks I was nuts even now. But I'm beginning to wonder about him as yesterday he had a nice looking Sig 220. for $550. and I just happened to be looking at buying one of those so we made a deal. It wasn't until I had it home that I realized that it's got Crimson Trace grips on it, working fine! I really don't think that the shop guy knew they were there because he's not big on giving stuff away. LOL!

I've been going around the house today singing "I got Terry" to the tune of "I got Rhythm". :D

(BTW, the second one, with the wooden grips, isn't alloy, it's a Combat Commander in 9mm).

I think that Colt really wants to stop making guns at all.

They just can't quite figure out how to have any income if they do.

T-shirts for Python collectors, maybe?

That looks like my own. Prior to my scar-bands developing, I was able to keep 1" center-to-center groups at 25 yards when I did my part. While I won't be seeing those groups until several months of PT, that little Colt pistol is certainly capable. :)

Nice pic...thanks for sharing.
