Hi...
I have, so far, bought five guns this year and have another on layaway for the last week.
Why did I buy them?
Because I wanted them...I didn't really need them. I have enough firearms to fulfill my needs for self defense and hunting, but sometimes I just want another rifle, shotgun or handgun. And... that's enough reason.
The old line, "just one more gun.............." :D

I could really have voted both so I had to vote that I bought a gun (2 actually) out of “concerns”. My concerns were with lawmakers though, not rioters or viruses. I’m pretty well set in the SD / HD departments.

One was an AK type rifle. I live in Va and our elected officials have decided that they’d like us to lose the right to own such guns and hi cap magazines. That battle is still being fought but it looks like we’re losing. I own several of those evil type rifles but figured I wanted at least one more while I still could.

Those same elected officials passed new legislation requiring all gun sales to go through an FFL and the purchaser to pass a UBC. Again I wanted one more gun before that law passed and made one last private purchase of a 9mm pistol. Not because I can’t pass a back ground check. Just because I’ve been privately buying and selling guns without them for years and was just mad that I’ve lost yet another freedom.

I also buy bought an old side by side just cause I wanted it, and I never stop buying ammo so I guess my answer to this poll is...yes.

Yep we got that law shoved down our throats a while back. It's a HUGE PITA. I ended up having to buy another safe. I have never owned this many guns at one time in all my life. Always used to play with them, get tired of one, sell it to try another. Could always get most if not all the money out of one so I could play with another. Well that's gone now. It's a huge thing to sell so seldom try any more. Of course this did zero to slow criminals down as they do not follow laws and do not care :cuss:

I had gotten out of shooting a year or two ago for many reasons, mostly monetary. A friend texted the other day and said "Just got my shotgun fixed, want to go skeet shooting?" I am in a much better financial situation these days so I bought my first O/U. I am about to buy a Marlin 60 because a different friend just got into shooting handguns and I want to introduce him to rifles, plus my kids are big enough to handle it now.

I bought 3 new guns in 2020 before the covid madness

I do have to admit that if i had known that covid was going to hit so hard , i might have postponed some purchases.

I didn't buy anything in terms of guns in 2020 due to COVID or anything else. Im pretty set with what i need in terms of hardware. The last gun I bought was in January.

I did stock up on a few more boxes of 00 buck when the TP was gone off the shelves and people were snatching up ridiculous things. I was way more nervous about that situation than any societal skirmishes. Angry people don't bother me. Irrationally scared people do. I wouldn't call that a fear buy as much as I was a little low and like to keep 100 rounds of 00 on hand.

Times are stressful, our rights and hobbies seem to be under attack from all sides. But the larger world's issues and the pandemic are just outside our mission. If all we talk about is doom and gloom then all we will see is doom and gloom.
