Why no love? S&W 1911

There's nothing wrong with any of those firearms. Rankings are solely base on opinion. Ask yourself this. Am I accurately hitting my target.

I have an S&W E series 1911 with an external extractor. It has run flawlessly from day one. So far I have run about 1400 rounds through it. Actually I would like to buy another S&W 1911. I have been drooling over the SC E series scandium alloy frame models with the bobtailed grip.

My Sig Sauer and Dan Wesson 1911's have external extractors and none of them have had any failures.

And then there is my Kimber Custom II with the external extractor. Nothing but a lesson in frustration until they swapped out a slide with an internal extractor.

Smith & Wesson E Series....

I didn't know people were not fond of the S&W E series 1911s.
Id buy & carry a SAO E series Smith & Wesson anytime. It's not at the top of my list either but if I had piles of $$$, Id snap one up.
I like the pistols & think they are fine for CCW or defense.
Ideally for those who are advanced or able to learn how to properly carry a single action .45acp pistol.

My 1911 PD has been great. Never any jams, FTFs or problem. It's extremely accurate - on a par with my BIL's hardball target gun and has a great trigger out of the box.

I have a sig 1911 TTT, Colt 70 series .38 super, and a scandium framed sw1911pd and the sw shoots just as well as the sig and the colt, never had any issues.

I own a Kimber and a Sig 1911; I've shot the S&W, SA, and Colt. Of all the guns, I've only had issues with the Internal extractor on the Kimber. Purists can be purists, but it comes down what you are comfortable and confident shooting. For me, I'll take my Sig Tac Ops 1911 over any other (although favorite all time pistol is a CZ75 ;).
