Why not the 25-06???

I have a Tikka T3 in the caliber. Only thing wrong with the rifle that I can find is a minor gripe...I wish the bbl. was 24" rather than 22". The cartridge is just overbore enough to benefit from a longer tube IMHO.

well i got to put my 2 cents in i hate it!!!!!!!!!!! it is a 3006 necked down i have 3 rifles calibers 22-250 for long range varments a 3006 as its is old faithful and a 300 win mag i have seen a lot of game lost from rifles in 25 cal and smaller in my opion the 30 cal is alost the perfect cal u can shoot 125 grain up to 225 gr so varments up to grizzly my 22-250 is killer on coyotes and other vermin and my 06 is for med range shooting and my 300 is my go to gun with 180 gr i have killed everything from ground hogs to wild boar to the biggest white tails next up is bear.

In Elmer Keiths words it isnt much useful other than a coyote or small game rifle!
