Will 870 assecories fit on an 1187

Hey anyone know if 870 replacement stocks will fit an 1187??

I have an 1187 I want to replace the Wood stock with a folding synthetic pistol grip, or something similar..

Anyone have any suggestions??

NOPE.
The semi-auto Remington's have a recoil spring assembly in the butt stock.
This prevents installing pistol grip-only grips and folding stocks.

Here's a schematic. Notice part #7 at the rear of the receiver. That's the spring tube.

My 870 stock is stamped 1187.

The 1187 stock will fit on the 870 (and provide a nice cavity to hide your stash), but not vice-versa, because the 1187 has an AR-15-style buffer tube in the stock.

Surely somebody makes an M4-style telescoping stock for the 1187. (If not, don't steal my idea.)
