Williams Peep Sight?

Hey all,

So I received my order from Midway containing a Williams 5D peep sight for my 1903. On top of the sight, there is a set screw that sticks out because the hole beneath it is not perfectly lined up. Is this normal with the williams sights?

Is there something I am missing here?

Normal.
You are looking at the depth stop screw.

Once sighted in, screw the screw in until it contacts the base.

After that, you can loosen the lock plate screw and take the peep sight off out of the way for cleaning, using a scope, etc.

When you slide it back in the base dovetail, the screw stops it exactly where it was before you took it off.
