Hey y'all,

Wondering if anyone out there has reviews and/or range reports from having owned or used the Winchester 100 in .308?

Considering this autoloader as an introduction to the world of .308's, with maybe an M1A or FN FAL in my future (much further and many more hundreds of dollars down the line). Thanks in advance!

I have a few and like them but have not shot them. have done shot the 100 before and liked them. I plan on putting mine on gun broker about the middle of oct. I have a 308 carbine and a few in 284. not counting all of the regular ones. do plan on starting to list about 10 guns a week for along while. (not all 100 of course).

they had a bolt seperation problem, and were recalled. most of them were sent in under the recall, but you should def ask the previous owner , if he knows it was done. if not , take it to a gunsmith, call them first, to see if they know about the recall, and what to look for; it is easily visible to tell , just from looking at the bolt assy.
I love them, and think they were the all time most handiest lightest, fastest shooting semi auto 308 ever made.

I took my first whitetail with one chambered in .308 back in the early sixties. I never heard of a "bolt separation" issue but I know a recall was issued for (I believe) a problem with the firing pin. Mediocre triggers but not as bad as the Model 88. Nice looking and handling rifles.
